How to Turn Off BBM Group Chat Alerts or Remove From The Hub

How to turn off BBM group chat alerts or remove from the Hub

There are times a group can get very chatty for some. You can remove groups from the Hub so that your device doesn't go off every second or so when the chat gets busy.
What is also great going forward, with OS 10.2 (pre-loaded on the BlackBerry Z30 ), is that you can now set a notification for each BBM group. Or turn off the alert for a particular group too, so even if you left it in the Hub it wouldn't go off every second and you could still easily access the group chats.

To turn off BBM groups from the Hub
Open up BBM

*Tap Groups along the bottom bar
*Tap the group in question
*Tap the overflow menu (three dots on the bottom right corner) and select Group Settings
*Toggle Show Chats in BlackBerry Hub to off

To change BBM Group notifications (OS 10.2 and above)
*Tap the Settings icon from your Homescreen or swipe from the top bezel from the Homescreen and select
Settings
*Tap Notifications
*Scroll down and select BBM Groups
*Select the group you want to change
*Tap the Tone dropdown menu and select a tone of your choice

To turn off BBM Group notifications (OS 10.2 and above)
*Tap the Settings icon from your Homescreen or swipe from the top bezel from the Homescreen and select
Settings
*Tap Notifications
*Scroll down and select BBM Groups
*Select the group you want to change
*Toggle All Alerts to off
There you have it. If you're part of a 24 hour group or just a group that likes to chat, changing these settings will benefit you.

Note:
Better still, if You wish not to go through these steps next time,
*Be sure of who You add on BBM,
*Check or Identify who might have added You to the group and block The PIN.
